Piriou to build 55m fast crewboat for Saudi operator

Piriou has been awarded a contract to supply a new high-speed DP2 crewboat for Saudi Arabia-based Jana Marine Services.

The vessel will have an aluminium hull, a length of 55.1 metres, a beam of 10 metres, a maximum draught of 2.28 metres, accommodations for 20 crew and 60 passengers, and a cargo deck capacity of 226 tonnes. Four 2,000kW engines will deliver a maximum speed of 34 knots.

Delivery of the crewboat is scheduled for the end of 2020 following completion at the facilities of Piriou Vietnam. It will be operated in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.

The vessel will be the third crewboat to be built by Piriou for Jana after two 41-metre vessels delivered in 2017.
