Marine Core and Charter accepts first of crewboat pair

Damen Shipyards has completed the first of two identical vessels for Dubai-based Marine Core and Charter, a marine services company that manages and operates a wide range of workboats, tugs and barges.

The design is a recently introduced class of Damen crew boat. 41 metres in length, its steel hull ensures strength while its aluminium superstructure keeps the weight down and allows it reach speeds of up to 28 knots.

Ampi has industrial-grade seating inside for 90 personnel and the 150m² aft deck has ample space for containers and other equipment. The axe bow design ensures good sea-keeping in a wide range of weather conditions, ensuring that personnel arrive at their destinations in good shape.

Ampi and her sister ship Amia will be used for the long-distance delivery of crew and equipment for an oil and gas major operating in the Gulf.
