Vroon AHTS starts new charter with EPCI operator

OFFSHORE WEEK

Vroon’s anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel VOS Champion has commenced a five-month contract with an unnamed engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) company in the oil and gas sector.

The vessel’s first task under the new charter involved towing the accommodation work barge (AWB) Asia Pride 39308 to Batam, Indonesia, for cargo loading and conducting of mooring trials.

The AWB, which is owned by Malaysia’s Coastal Contracts and managed by Horizon Ship Management of Singapore, will then be towed to a location off the east coast of India in line with an ongoing deepwater development and offshore brownfield modification project undertaken by the charterer.

Operating from the port of Kakinada, VOS Champion will be primarily tasked with towing, running anchors, and providing support to the AWB.
