Teekay Petrojarl awards FPSO recycling contract to MARS Europe

Modern American Recycling Services, through Denmark-based subsidiary Modern American Recycling Services Europe (MARS Europe), has been awarded a contract by Teekay Petrojarl Floating Production UK for dismantling and recycling of the Petrojarl Banff FPSO, after 21 years of service in the North Sea.

The contract includes engineering, preparation, dismantling, and green recycling of the unit.

The decommissioned FPSO has been temporarily moored at Kishorn Port since September 2020. It is expected to arrive at MARS Europe’s Frederikshavn facilities prior to the end of the first quarter of 2021.
