Vard, Ocean Installer to develop wind turbine installation vessel

Vard and Ocean Installer have entered into a partnership to develop a new vessel to be used for wind turbine installation duties.

The new vessel being developed by the partnership is expected to be able to install wind turbine components of just over 1,000 tonnes each more than 150 metres above sea level.

The two companies said the partnership was formed in anticipation of the expected significant growth of the wind turbine installation market in the coming years.
