Subsea 7, Royal IHC launch reel-lay vessel

Subsea 7 and Royal IHC launched the new reel-lay vessel Seven Vega on Saturday, May 25.

The DP3 vessel will have an LOA of 149 metres, a beam of 33 metres, cranes offering a lifting capacity of 250 tonnes and 50 tonnes, and multiple smaller cranes alongside two side-launching work-class ROV systems.

It will also be equipped with a pipelay system capable of installing complex rigid flowlines including pipe-in-pipe systems and electrically heat traced flowlines in water depths of up to 3,000 metres.

Delivery of Seven Vega is scheduled in 2020.
