OHT’s newest crane vessel floated out

Offshore Heavy Transport’s (OHT) newest installation vessel was launched at the Jiangsu shipyard of China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) on Sunday, February 28.

Alfa Lift will now be moored whilst work continues on the steel and internal fit-out, including the mechanical completion of systems. The major components of the vessel’s 3,000-tonne crane have meanwhile been completed in Rostock, Germany, and will be transported to China for installation at CMHI in April.

The specialist heavy installation vessel will be used for installing XXL offshore wind foundations.

Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2021 or early 2022.
