OHT to transport, install foundations at Dogger Bank wind farms

Norway’s Offshore Heavy Transport (OHT) has been designated by SSE Renewables and Equinor as the preferred supplier for the foundation installation at the Dogger Bank offshore wind farms.

Under the agreement, OHT’s new heavy installation crane vessel Alfa Lift will carry out the transport and installation of monopile foundations and transition pieces for the Creyke Beck A and B wind farms.

The foundations will be transported to the offshore site, approximately 130 kilometres off the north-east coast of England, and installed in water depths of up to 35 metres. Alfa Lift will carry 10 monopiles and transition pieces on deck per voyage.

The vessel is scheduled to enter service in 2021.
