Keel laid for Jan De Nul installation vessel Voltaire

China’s COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has laid the keel of a new jackup installation vessel ordered by Jan De Nul Group.

Jan De Nul said the BV-classed Voltaire will be capable of ultra-low emissions, qualifying it for EU Stage V certification.

For its first project following delivery to Jan De Nul, the vessel will transport and install wind turbines at the Dogger Bank offshore wind farms in the UK North Sea.
