Jan De Nul Group has been awarded a contract for the transport and installation of offshore wind turbines at the Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B offshore wind areas 130 kilometres off the Yorkshire coast.
The work will be the first project to be undertaken by Voltaire, Jan De Nul's newest offshore jackup installation vessel.
Installation will commence in 2023.
Jointly developed by SSE Renewables and Equinor, the 3.6GW Dogger Bank offshore wind farms are expected to generate enough energy to power over 4.5 million homes, around five per cent of the UK's electricity needs, every year.
