Fred Olsen Windcarrier wins installation contract in Taiwan

Fred Olsen Windcarrier has been awarded a conditional contract with Liwei Wind Power, a company wholly owned by WPD Group, for the transport and installation of 36 wind turbines for the Guanyin Offshore Wind Farm project in Taiwanese waters.

Installation work will commence in the summer of 2022 and will be performed by the jackup vessel Brave Tern.

The 350MW wind farm will be located approximately two kilometres off the northwest coast of Taiwan. Once operational, it is expected to supply power to more than 250,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 500,000 tonnes per year.
