Monaco-based Eneti has discontinued discussions with an unnamed shipyard in the United States regarding the potential construction of a Jones Act-compliant wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV).

Eneti CEO Emanuele A. Lauro said via a related press release that the company is focused on delivering on its existing commitments from its current fleet.

Mr Lauro added that Eneti believes the US market for offshore wind will still offer “significant opportunities” for the company in the future.

Eneti is still slated to take delivery of two WTIVs to be built by South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) to a design by Netherlands-based GustoMSC. Both vessels are scheduled for hand-over by the second quarter of 2025.
