Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and LNG Terminal Wilhelmshaven (LTW), a subsidiary of Germany’s Uniper Energy, have entered into an agreement for the construction and charter of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for the planned LNG landing terminal at the deep sea port of Wilhelmshaven on the North Sea.

The FSRU will be built by South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) and will be chartered by LTW for 20 years.

The vessel will be custom-designed by MOL and LTW in accordance with local and environmental requirements for the German market and the Wilhelmshaven site.
