Jiangnan Shipyard begins construction of LNG-FRU for Gasfin

China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) subsidiary Jiangnan Shipyard has begun construction of a 28,000-cubic-metre liquefied natural gas floating regasification unit (LNG-FRU) for UK-based Gasfin Development.

Germany’s TGE Marine provided the concept designs of the BV-classed vessel and its liquid cargo system.

The LNG-FRU will have a length of 94.9 metres, a width of 38.4 metres, four sets of dual fuel generators, and two 14,000-cubic-metre C-type cylindrical tanks.

It will have a regasification capacity of up to 335 tonnes per hour.
