BW Offshore confirms release of FPSO crew abducted by pirates
BW Offshore has confirmed that the nine Nigerian crewmen who had been kidnapped by pirates from the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Sendje Berge have been safely released.
The crewmen spent approximately one month in captivity after they were abducted from the FPSO in Nigerian waters at around 04:20 local time on July 2.
BW Offshore earlier said it had coordinated with the Nigerian Navy and other local agencies to ensure the hostages’ release.
