Shelf Drilling awarded new contract, two extensions

Dubai-based Shelf Drilling has secured a contract for the jack-up rig Shelf Drilling Scepter (pictured) with Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production for operations in the Gulf of Thailand.

The contract is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2020 and run until the second quarter of 2022 and includes a one-year option.

The company has also executed a two-year extension each for the rigs Shelf Drilling Tenacious and Shelf Drilling Mentor in continuation of their existing contracts through priced options exercised by an unnamed customer. Both rigs are now committed until January 2022.
