MMT extends Stril Explorer charter

Sweden’s MMT has extended the charter contract of multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) Stril Explorer with Simon Møkster Shipping for another 18 months.

The 76.4-metre by 16.2-metre DP2 vessel has been contracted to MMT since April 2014.

The vessel will be used in various survey-related projects with MMT.

Featuring a large open deck suitable for launch and recovery operation, Stril Explorer can be fitted with two work remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and one observation/medium class ROV.

The vessel is equipped with a 60-tonne offshore crane with a working depth of 1,500 metres. There is also an under-deck cargo room.
