Shanghai Waigaoqiao delivers jackup drilling rig to SinoOcean

Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shibuilding (SWS) delivered a new jackup drilling rig to local offshore company SinoOcean on Thursday, April 2.

Named SinoOcean Auspicious, the Friede and Goldman-designed rig is designed to be able to operate in water depths of 120 metres and drill to depths of up to 10,000 metres.

SinoOcean Auspicious is expected to be handed over later this month to CNOOC, which will operate it on behalf of SinoOcean.
