DEME Offshore and Japanese company Penta-Ocean Construction have formed a new joint venture company with the aim of serving customers in Japan’s offshore wind market.

The newly formed company will be named Japan Offshore Marine and will be co-owned by DEME Offshore and Penta-Ocean with 49 and 51 per cent interest, respectively.

The joint venture will operate the DP2 jackup installation vessel Sea Challenger, which will be relocated to Japan and will be re-registered under the Japanese flag.
