ST Marine Support christens newest multi-purpose workboat

Dutch marine construction company ST Marine Support christened its newest multi-purpose workboat in a ceremony on Friday, August 2.

Built by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, the 34.65- by 14.5-metre Auxilia will be used for anchor handling, dredging support, and towing duties.

Three Caterpillar C32 929kW engines give the vessel a speed of 11 knots and a bollard pull of 45 tonnes.

Two days after being christened, Auxilia sailed for Germany to undertake its first assignment.
