The commissioning of Tango FLNG has been completed and the vessel has already begun operating in Argentina for energy company YPF, Belgium’s Exmar said in a statement.

The vessel has offloaded around 25,000 cubic metres from the Vaca Muerta shale gas reserves in the Neuquen Basin, marking Argentina’s entry into the worldwide LNG exporting industry.

Formerly known as Caribbean FLNG, Tango FLNG has a rated liquefaction capacity of up to 500,000 tonnes of LNG per year. The vessel is expected to produce up to eight LNG cargoes per year over a ten-year period.
