This week’s string of new charters covers an assortment of work types including seismic surveying, subsea installation, and maintenance. The geographical focus for now, however, is on Western Europe and South America.

SeaBird Exploration has entered into a one-year firm duration contract for the seismic vessel Fulmar Explorer with a repeat customer. The contract will commence in November 2021 and will replace the letter of intent that was announced on July 8 of this year.

Fulmar Explorer has already begun mobilising for the contract, which calls for ocean bottom node (OBN) acquisition services.

Petrobras inks charters with two operators for pipelay vessels

TechnipFMC has been awarded a long-term charter and services contract by Petrobras for the pipelay support vessel Coral do Atlantico.

The Brazilian-registered vessel has been secured on a three-year contract, with an option to extend. Operations offshore Brazil are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2022.

The vessel will mainly be deployed in ultra-deepwater of up to 3,000 metres.

Petrobras has also awarded Subsea 7 similar three years’ firm duration charters plus one-year options for the pipelay support vessels Seven Waves, Seven Rio, and Seven Sun. The three vessels will commence serving their contracts in the first, second, and third quarters of 2022, respectively.

EDF Renouvelables taps TSM for crewboat services

French energy company EDF Renouvelables has selected Rouen-based Thomas Services Maritimes (TSM) for the provision of crew transfer services in support of operations at the Fecamp offshore wind farm.

The 25-metre crewboat that will serve the charter is still under construction at a French shipyard. Upon completion, the vessel will be handed over to TSM subsidiary TSM Windcat.

Solstad PSV secures extension in Norway

Solstad Offshore has confirmed that the present charterer of the platform supply vessel (PSV) Normand Server has exercised its option to extend the present contract by one year.

The PSV’s current contract is now firm to January 2023. The client has two remaining one-year options thereafter.
