Awilco orders second semi-submersible drilling rig from Keppel FELS
UK-based Awilco Drilling has declared an option for the construction of a second semi-submersible rig in a series from Singaporean builder Keppel FELS.
The rig will be optimised for harsh environment use and will be equipped and certified for drilling on the Norwegian continental shelf, including in the Barents Sea, in water depths up to 1,524 metres.
The rig will cost approximately US$425 million and will be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
