DEME christens newest jack-up vessel Apollo

DEME has held a naming ceremony for Apollo, the company’s newest self-propelled DP2 jack-up vessel in the port of Zeebrugge in Belgium.

The vessel has lattice legs of 106.8 metres in length, which allows it to operate in water depths of up to 65 metres. It also has an 800-tonne leg-encircling crane and a 2,000-square-metre deck with a load carrying capacity of 15 tonnes per square metre.

Apollo will be used to serve a variety of projects in both the renewables and oil and gas market. It is presently being mobilised for pre-piling works at the Moray East offshore wind farm in the UK.
