Kongsberg Maritime to supply four AUVs to Indian shipbuilder

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a contract for the supply of four Hugin autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems to Indian state-owned defence shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE).

The AUVs will be installed on four large survey vessels that GRSE is currently building for the Indian Navy. The contract also calls for the transfer of high-accuracy acousting positioning and communication systems for the unmanned vehicles.

The AUVs will also be supplied with containers and launch and recovery systems, plus training and support.
