Australian defense department partners with US firm for development of new AUV
The Australian Department of Defence and US-based unmanned systems company Anduril Industries have formed a new partnership with the aim of developing a new type of extra large autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).
Anduril said the craft will be a long-endurance, multi-mission-capable AUV that will be used for a variety of subsea military missions.
The partners have co-funded US$100 million for the AUV development program.
