Delivery of ‘Hezekiah’ and ‘Lady Dora’

Two 35-metre offshore security patrol vessels have been completed by Veecraft Marine, based in Cape Town, South Africa, for an undisclosed client in Lagos, Nigeria.

The ‘Hezekiah’ and ‘Lady Dora’ are expected to provide surveillance, intervention and protection to offshore assets of the Nigerian AGIP Exploration (NAE) located in the Gulf of Guinea.

The vessels are also capable of providing replenishment of crews, fuel, and potable water to the NAE offshore facilities.

Both of the vessels are powered by a set of three Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines, each engine producing 1,000kW at 2,300rpm. The C32’s drive Teignbridge fixed pitch propellers through ZF 3050 gearboxes. The vessels have a service speed of 25 knots.

Electrical power is provided by two Caterpillar C4.4 generators and manoeuvrability is improved by a Hydro Armor Type 800 bow thruster.

The vessels each provide accommodation for a complement of 22 crew and security personnel as well as 15 passengers.
