The Seychelles Coast Guard held a commissioning ceremony for two new inshore patrol vessels on Friday, February 14.

The vessels were constructed by Sri Lanka's Naval Boat Building Yard (NBBY) and donated to Seychelles by the Sri Lankan government. Each has a length of 15 metres, capacity for 10 personnel, and two Cummins QSB6.7M engines that deliver a maximum speed of 42 knots.

A third vessel from the same series is expected to be completed by the end of the month and delivered to Seychelles shortly afterward.
