Russian border service takes delivery of multi-purpose boat

Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of United Shipbuilding Corporation, recently delivered a multi-purpose vessel under Project P1650.

The Border Service of the Federal Security Service will use the vessel for patrols, inspections, personnel and cargo transport, and search and rescue.

The vessel’s hull is made of steel while the deck, deckhouse, and trim elements all use composite materials.

The vessel is designed for operation even during the winter months.

This is the third boat in the Project P1650 series. The lead boat was delivered in 2015 while the second boat was handed over in 2017.

The vessel has a displacement of 25.85 tonnes, a speed of 13 knots, and space for a crew of two plus 10 passengers.
