The Spanish Tax Agency has awarded Rodman a contract to deliver a new patrol boat for use by the agency’s customs and excise department.

The €8.2 million (US$9.2 million) contract calls for a 42-metre boat that will replace some of the agency’s older 30-metre vessels. Delivery is expected within 15 months of the contract signing.

The new patrol boat will be used primarily for anti-smuggling and counter-narcotics operations, particularly against vessels entering Spanish waters from the Caribbean and South America.
