The Philippine Coast Guard will take delivery of an additional 12 rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) in a series at the end of July under a PHP 236 million (US$4.6 million) contract.

The seven-metre, 12-person boats will be capable of operating under sea state 4 and will be utilised for maritime patrol and interception, search and rescue (SAR), dive support, and inter-island transport of personnel and equipment.

The RHIBs' main components will be sourced from the United States and will be assembled by Pacificfortia Marine Technologies, a boat builder located just outside Manila.
