The Philippine Coast Guard inaugurated a batch of 12 newbuild rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) into service on Thursday, July 25.
Each boat has a length of seven metres, an X-band radar, an electronic chart display, a range of 36 nautical miles, seating for up to 12 people, and two Suzuki 130kW outboard engines.
The RHIBs will be used in patrols, interdiction missions, transport of personnel and materiel, search and rescue (SAR), and dive support.
The boats were recently delivered to the coast guard by local builder Pacificfortia Marine Technologies.
