North Carolina non-profit donates US$72,000 for police boat purchase

North Carolina’s Morehead City Police Department will soon acquire a new response boat following the recent donation of approximately US$72,000 by a local non-profit organisation.

The amount donated by The Big Rock Foundation will cover the purchase of the vessel, a dedicated trailer, and other associated equipment.

The boat will replace an older craft that has been in operation since 2006. It will be used for law enforcement patrols and rescue operations.

The Morehead City Police Department is one of several local organisations selected late last year by The Big Rock Foundation to receive donations totaling US$1 million.
