New police rescue boat for Yorkshire and the Humber

The Yorkshire and The Humber (YaTH) Marine and Underwater Search Unit, a joint maritime law enforcement and search and rescue (SAR) unit of the territorial police forces of North, South, West Yorkshire, and Humberside in England, commissioned a custom-built catamaran into service on Saturday, September 29.

Built on the Isle of Wight by Cheetah Marine, the vessel is 10.2 metres in length and 3.7 metres in width.

It can accommodate up to 12 people plus equipment for a total load of just over one tonne.

Two 223kW Mercury engines deliver a speed of 40 knots.
