Indian Coast Guard commissions final Vikram-class OPV

The Indian Coast Guard commissioned a new offshore patrol vessel (OPV) into service on Saturday, August 28.

ICGS Vigraha is the final one of seven Vikram-class OPVs built by local shipyard Larsen and Toubro for the coast guard. It has a length of 97 metres, a beam of 15 metres, a draught of 3.6 metres, a displacement of 2,140 tonnes, and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

The vesssel also has a helicopter deck, onboard space for four small fast boats, and armament consisting of a 30-millimetre naval gun and two 12.7-millimetre machine guns.
