India’s Cochin Shipyard (CSL) has laid the keels of three new floating border outposts (FBOPs) ordered for the country’s Border Security Force (BSF).

Once completed, each vessel will measure 46 by 12 metres and will be capable of launching and recovering up to four smaller patrol craft.

CSL will build a total of nine FBOPs under a contract awarded by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs in March 2019.
