Iceland’s coast guard takes delivery of multi-purpose RIB

The Icelandic Coast Guard has taken delivery of a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) built by local manufacturer Rafnar.

The 8.5- by three-metre multi-purpose RIB will be used primarily as a mother ship support tender for the coast guard’s larger vessels, from which it can be easily deployed.

The RIB will undergo further acceptance trials before it begins operational sailing with the coast guard.
