China’s 701 Research Institute awarded patrol vessel design contract
China Shipbuilding Group’s 701 Research Institute has been awarded a contract to design a new patrol vessel for the Shenzhen Marine Comprehensive Law Enforcement Detachment.
The vessel will have an LOA of 115 metres, a beam of 15 metres, a draught of 4.2 metres, a full load displacement of 3,000 tonnes, diesel-electric propulsion, and a helicopter deck.
The municipal government of Shenzhen will fund the construction of the vessel.
