BMT submits bid for Australian Army landing craft tender

MARITIME SECURITY WEEK

BMT has submitted a variant of its 30- by seven-metre fast landing craft as its bid vessel for the Australian Army’s Land 8710 Phase One programme which seeks to replace the service’s aging LCM-8 vessels.

The BMT landing craft will have a tri-bow aluminium monohull and both bow and stern ramps.

The vessel will also have a maximum cargo capacity of 90 tonnes and will be capable of operating in sea state four.
