Austal Australia delivered a new Guardian-class patrol boat to the Australian Department of Defence on Friday, September 18.

The future PSS President H.I. Remeliik II was then turned over to the government of Palau for use by the country’s national marine police.

The 39-metre newbuild is one of 21 Guardian-class boats to be constructed under two contracts awarded to Austal in May 2016 and April 2018. The contracts have a total value of approximately AU$335 million (US$244.5 million).
