Turkish Navy takes delivery of LST

Anadolu Shipyard has delivered its first landing ship tank (LST) vessel Bayraktar to the Turkish Naval Forces Command.

The second LST, Sancaktar, is slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The pair was designed in-house and each is 139 metres long with a displacement of 7,500 tonnes. Four MTU 2,880kW diesels drive two controllable pitch propellers for a maximum speed exceeding 18 knots.
