Metal Shark begins building new blue-water interceptors

Metal Shark Boats has begun construction of the first examples of a new series of blue-water-capable interceptor craft.

The welded-aluminium vessels will each have an LOA of 17.5 metres, a beam of 3.5 metres, and two MAN 1,230kW inboard engines that will deliver a maximum speed of 70 knots. An endurance of 12.5 hours could be achieved at a cruising speed of 50 knots.

Fifteen vessels in the series are currently on order for overseas military and law enforcement customers.
