Littoral combat ship Mobile delivered to US Navy

Austal USA has handed over the future littoral combat ship (LCS) USS Mobile to the US Navy.

The future Mobile is the 23rd overall LCS and the thirteenth of the Independence-class to join the fleet. It is also the fifth US Navy ship to honour the Alabama Gulf Coast city of Mobile.

The ship will be commissioned into service in the spring of 2021.
