HMS Trent completes sea trials

The Royal Navy River-class offshore patrol vessel (OPV) HMS Trent has completed a two-week period of sea trials off the Scottish coast.

The trials tested the OPV’s main engineering systems and sensors. The vessel has since returned to BAE Systems’ facilities in Scotstoun to allow shipwrights and technicians to fix any problems that arose during the trials.

Launched in March 2018, Trent is scheduled to be delivered to the Royal Navy later this year.
