Garden Reach Shipbuilders delivers LCU to Indian Navy

Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) formally turned over the Mark IV landing craft utility (LCU) L 55 to the Indian Navy on Friday, September 28.

L 55 is the fifth ship of an order for eight Mark IV LCUs placed by the Indian Navy with GRSE. The remaining three ships are in advanced stages of construction and are expected to be delivered to the navy over the next 12 months.

Each Mark IV LCU has a length of 62.8 metres, a low draught of 1.7 metres, and a speed of 15 knots.
