Ex-South Korean Navy corvette donated to Peru
The Peruvian government recently took delivery of a corvette that had originally served with the South Korean Navy.
Ex-ROKS Suncheon is a Pohang-class corvette that was operated by the South Korean Navy from 1988 until its decommissioning in late 2019. It was renamed BAP Guise and commissioned into Peruvian service shortly after its arrival at the naval base in Callao earlier this month.
Guise is the second Pohang-class corvette to be donated to Peru by the South Korean government. The first corvette, BAP Ferre (ex-ROKS Gyeongju), was handed over in 2018.
