China’s second Type 075 helicopter carrier hits the water

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding launched the second Type 075 landing helicopter dock (LHD) that it is building for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) at its facilities in Shanghai on Wednesday, April 22.

Once completed, the yet unnamed vessel will have a length of 235 metres, a displacement of 35,000 tonnes, and space for up to 28 helicopters.

The LHD will then undergo fitting out, which is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
