China’s first Type 075 helicopter carrier completes initial sea trials

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has completed conducting the maiden sea trials of the first Type 075 landing helicopter dock (LHD) slated for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), Chinese media has confirmed.

The trials lasted 18 days and were concluded with the ship’s return to Hudong-Zhonghua’s facilities in Shanghai on Sunday, August 23.

Following delivery, the yet unnamed vessel will be assigned to the PLAN’s South Sea Fleet whose main area of responsibility is the South China Sea.
