Bath Iron Works awarded contract for fifth Arleigh Burke-class destroyer

The US Navy has awarded General Dynamics Bath Iron Works a contract to build a fifth Arleigh Burke-class destroyer as part of a multi-year award announced in September 2018.

The award for the yet-unnamed DDG 132 is valued at approximately US$911 million.

The destroyer is expected to be handed over to the navy by May 2026.
