Austal’s Australia facilities bag US Navy vessel support contract

Austal’s shipyards and service centres in Australia have been approved to bid for and provide support services, including ship repairs, maintenance, and sustainment activity for US Navy warships.

The agreement of boat repair (ABR) signed by Austal and the US Navy also allows the Australian defence firm to bid for maintenance and repair of Military Sealift Command (MSC) support ships deployed to the Asia-Pacific region.

The approval from the US Navy allows Austal to bid for work on US naval vessels that may visit Australia as part of their regular Western Pacific deployments.
